WORTH CONSUMING!

This non-fiction work by John Grisham tells the story of Ron Williamson, who was wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to death. It is the story of this man’s life long struggle with serious mental illness and how the justice system failed him in every way imaginable.

Its the type of story that you couldn’t dream up if it weren’t true.

I must admit, that about a third of the way into the book itself, I got bogged down and bored with the details of everything and set the book aside while I read other things, but after I picked it back up, I couldn’t put it down. Even though I knew he was eventually released, I had no idea it would take so long or take the toll on so many people that it did. The idea of ever being in the court system is a very frightening one to me indeed.

The Innocent Man, by John Grisham

this was the first non-fiction work by the former attorney, John Grisham. He chronicles the life of a baseball player from Oklahoma who was wrongly accused, tried and convicetd of murder. The book is full of detail and fact, but is written in a pleasant way that makes it very enjoyable and easy reading. The book WILL make you afraid of the government and our legal system! This man, Ron Williams, was actually on death row, and almost was executed, for a crime that he did not commit. It took a dedicated, loving family and hard working attornies to exhonorate him. The prosecuter in this case is a piece of filth, who should have been sent to jail for what he did to several men in the Oklahoma area. Grisham writes non-fiction as well as he writes his fictional novels! A great read, worth having in your library.
