NOT WORTH CONSUMING
I used to love almonds. I had them at Christmastime with my dad. But alas, I inherited my mother’s allergy to tree nuts, so now I can’t have them, or even be in the same room with them. :/

Wow, that is a pretty intense allergy if you can’t even be in the same room. How come your allergy build up if you weren’t allergic at first?

When you have food allergies, every contact you have with that food makes the allergy worse. So when I was younger, I could have honey nut cheerios or almonds or whatever without any reaction, because my body hadn’t had as much exposure to it—especially since we didn’t often have nuts in the house because of my mother’s allergy. I was fourteen when the allergy finally graduated to physical signs—my throat closed up and I had trouble breathing. I also developed a rash.

I did not know that! Thanks for explaining, I’ll go to sleep less stupid tonight ;) Sorry that you’re so allergic though. :(
