I read the first chapter so far. It was about September 11th and Giuliani’s actions during the day itself. I’m not sure what my opinion is of Giuliani yet, but the chapter was impressive. It also brought a little tear to my eyes because it brought back memories of that day. I am not a New Yorker, I wasn’t there when it happened, and I don’t personally know anyone who died or was injured that day. But reading about it just brought back to memory the revolving media coverage from that day of the people screaming and running and the burning and jumping. Anyway, I was impressed by the all the actions the former mayor took during a day in which he was under such strain and duress. His actions show that he was able to stay calm under some trying pressure. I wonder what the rest of the book says. I have an inkling that it may be self promotion, but that might be interesting, and I’m sure it’ll teach me some secondary lessons.
