A story about this — 4 years ago
This is the third book in the massive “Red Mars” series. The scope and imagination of this series is a little mind boggling. The main character in this book is the planet itself. The perspective jumps around a bit and is told from the different points of view, mostly of some of the surviving “first hundred”. Sometimes I find myself skimming over some of the more technical parts relating to the planet itself – I’m more interested in the people and the story than the planet itself. These books aren’t my usual cup of tea, but they’re considered “classics” in the genre, so I figured I’d bite and do my homework. :-)
I flamed out on this half way through. Maybe I’ll come back to it, maybe it won’t. It’s a bit ponderous.
