A story about this — 2 years ago
I enjoyed this, but I thought it could have used better editing. Many of the stories were gripping (and gruesome); some of them fell flat. The “poems” did absolutely nothing for me.

I loved it. Starting the book was hard because it was hard to sort out the many many characters. I saw Palahniuk on a talk show saying how people were fainting while reading chapter 7. Oh how he hyped up the book, the story dealing with a pool is more likely to turn stomachs. With each story the characters become more interesting, and shocking. Palahniuk really is one of a kind.

I have pretty much put this one aside at this point. It’s very strange, and rather sick and twisted. I agree with another reader that it is downright disturbing at points. It’s a shame, because I really liked the idea behind the story.

Although some of the stories were rather out there, on the whole I liked the book for what it is – a horror book!

I’m about half way through it so far. All of the stories are odd, but some are just disturbing!
