Overall good read. I did find the maturity & intensity of the two main characters to be pretty unbelievable for their age (presumably about 14 & 16ish) Seems more suited for college age. But Hoffman does write with an eloquence hard to come by these day that made the novel pleasurable. This was the first book of hers that i’ve consumed :P

I LOVED this! Hoffman’s books are always so full of magic and mystery and this was no exception! She writes beautifully and her characters are some of the most human you will ever read about.

I loved this book. I devoured it. Hoffman is one of my favorite authors—I have to read her books while holding a pen so I can underline passages that stir my soul.

The book never really seemed to find its footing, I never felt like it was really about anything. The plot and the development of the characters and their relationships to each other seemed a bit lacking And there was this whole romantic subplot that was so unnecessary and distracting. Overall, not a very satisfying read.
