Why I recommend this — 20 weeks ago
The first 10 pages had so much unnecessary weird storytelling device and big words that didn’t help set the mood other than to make it “too big and important for something to read on the bus” that well, if I wasn’t on the bus, I would have stopped reading right there.
The ongoing interspersing the play with the novel was infuriating.
BUT - she really really got me with the gotcha. It was perfectly set up. So I read something else by her and it didn’t piss me off.
I bet her mysteries are good.
