i liked the pacing, and i liked the general story. but as usual, spike lee cant make a convincing character for shit. denzel is transparent, jodie is completely unnecessary, and clive is completely one-dimensional. plus denzel’s girlfriend/fiance is disgustingly shallow, an are most of spike lee’s black female characters. their sexual motivation is apparently the only thing that keeps them going.
i dunno, i think i would have had a much better opinion of this movie if the ending hadnt been so anticlimactic. i mean, the ending of a heist movie is the key right? well in this one it just dies off. disappointing to say the least.

I finished watching the movie The Inside Man this morning. It was filmed in NYC at 20 Exchange Pl, where I used to work. That makes it doubly entertaining for me!

I have only one quibble with this film – too many stars, I think it would have been better with unknowns in the various roles. In general, it’s an entertaining movie about a bank heist with a twist.
