Joe Gilbert and Eddie Brown – Joe & Eddie! What a duo! Joe’s tenor parts electrify, and their harmonies literally make me tingle. They classified themselves as a combination of gospel and jazz, but throw in folk, too. Hugely powerful sound. Huge. If Joe’s death hadn’t stopped them, they’d have been legendary. I only wish more of their recordings were available on CD. My older sister had their LPs, having seen them live, and they taught me to love harmony.
