I read this book when I was much younger and I had completely forgot about it until I saw it on a list here. This book was a big deal to me when I read it and I’m glad that I remembered loving it so much. I’d love to find another copy, as mine seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle.

I loved this, unexpectedly. It has almost no elements that I would imagine I would find immediately appealing, and yet the characters: Jeff, Melody, the Professor, BroT—are all drawn so fully and with such beautiful and real complexity that by the end I was tearing up.

It doesn’t feel like a follow-up book, and I didn’t really need Dicey in there at the end but I suppose Jeff did, so.

This book is modern, and it deals with modern issues of a young person. I like the style of writing.
