This is a quite amazing little book ruminating on the philosophy of the Web and its implications for our culture and our humanity. Why is the Web so addictive? Weinberger’s thesis is that hyperlinks on the Web are like the relationships humans form, freed of the constraints of time and place. The web is fundamentally a way for us to connect. There is much more to this book than this, but I will have to read it again to digest Weinberger’s insights more fully.
This book should be read by almost any denizen of the web. Philosophers and cultural theorists will especially find it interesting. Corporations looking to exploit the web should also read it to figure out what NOT to do.
