How this changed my life — 1 year ago

So, I’m not sure if I’d say to anyone, “Oh my god, go out and buy this book now!” because the book itself isn’t that hot. What is hot is the Strengthsfinder assessment and the descriptions of the individual strengths. I’ve found that they’re quite accurate, and it’s given me a whole new way to work and communicate with others effectively. The most exciting part I’ve found so far is sharing my strengths with others, including those that I manage, so they can understand how I work best.

I’m now looking into Strengthsfinder 2.0. (See review here soon.)

WORTH CONSUMING!

Good book, but I think it’s actually a bit useless unless you actually do the online test – and this requires that you are the first person to get the book. I got it out of the library at my work, and someone had already used the magic website access code :-( So, I couldn’t do the test, and consequently couldn’t understand how the majority of the book relates to me.

What I did find useful and interesting was the sections on managing people with certain strengths. I found it relatively commonsense information, but then again, most business/management books are just people writing down commonsense.

WORTH CONSUMING!

For those who want to as the old Delphi Oracle would say, “Know thyself”, then this book should help you. My wife, my business partner, and myself have all be awestruck by this books and it’s accompanying test. The group that wrote this has compiled and continues to compile amazing details of character and tries to bring new vocabulary to our strengths.

If you want change, and want to know how best to be applying yourself, this book can quite possibly help get you on track.
