WORTH CONSUMING!

Once again, Streep proves that she is among America’s most accomplished and versatile actresses of all times.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie always makes me want to go shopping and load my credit card with beautiful stuff. I am not, and I hope never will be a fashionista, I am very much like Andy in the beginning and I usually just thinks clothes cost a lot and I hate shopping for them (yes, I am very un-girly abot that), but in this movie… the clothes are SO great! Not all of them, but you know, often enough.

It’s a nice little movie too, I think it’s not that much of a chick flick – well, it is, obviously, but I’ve watched it with boys and they liked it, possibly because the main focus isn’t on the love story. Meryl Streep is just fantastic, and I think that everybody can relate to Andy because they all had at some point a boss who asked for crazy stuff.

The bonus features were really good, especially for a one-discer, the featurettes were interesting and there was nice long string of interesting deleted scenes. The gag reel even made me laugh which really isn’t always the case. So, it’s a good rent and if you find it cheap it’s also a good buy!

WORTH CONSUMING!

Meryl Streep’s portrayal of Miranda Priestly is already worth the 2 hours spent on this movie. A much better interpretation of the story than the book. The transformation of Andrea Sachs into a street-smart fashionista is also quite something.

The great wardrobe in this movie is commendable.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Well, I should have been expecting brain fluff, really!

The story is predictable, disappointingly so. The Cinderella-transformation even more so, and I’m not sure what I thought about the link between dressing ‘better’ (ahem!) and suddenly being a goddess at your job! Oh, and the “size six is fat”? I know it’s a ‘joke’, but still – Hmm.

Maybe because, like start-of-film Andrea, I have zero interest in fashion…?

Meryl Streep, however, is fantastic. I like seeing her in a frothier role. Stanley Tucci also impressed me.

Ah, really – I knew what I was getting, and that’s what I got. Just, disappointing still.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It’s not exactly thought-provoking, but it was a good sleepover film.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I was really excited to see it in the movies but I never got the time. Now I am glad that I didn’t waste the money. I eventually watched it and was dissapointed I didn’t like the book or the movie. I don’t see why it was so popular.

the book was better — 1 year ago

I enjoyed the movie, but in my opinion, the book was better.

I’d only reccommend this to people who are into fashion. The clothes were fabulous, but it ends about there. I really didn’t care about seeing the characters together or happy. The movie on the whole was actually very depressing.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Too predictable and too boring. I really didn’t feel anything for any of the characters. Kinda wanted to slap them. Meryl is awesome as usual but not very compelling. It is a light movie to kill an afternoon if nothing else is available, I guess. But don’t wear your sweats, you will feel way underdressed.
