A really long Simpsons episode — 46 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I think a lot of people went in with extremely high expectations. I expected a long Simpsons episode with a large budget and that is exactly what I got. I am a happy man.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I’ve been a fan of The Simpsons for years, and even though I stopped watching the show two years ago I still like to watch some of the older episodes that premiered back when I was in like… elementary school. I don’t know, after awhile the show got kind of stale, and sometimes too political for me.

That being said, I expected so much more from this movie. I mean, you’d think that it being one of the longest running cartoons on prime time television they’d want to really put all they could into a movie version. Not the case, in my opinion.

Part of what I love about the show is its huge list of supporting characters. Personally, I felt like they focused way too much on the whole Homer/Bart story. The least they could’ve done was add more scenes of what was going on to the population of Springfield during the majority of the film (don’t want to spoil anything). Don’t get me wrong, there are a ton of funny moments in the film, and a lot of the references and jokes are great, but it’s not enough.

This movie really should’ve just been made for TV, or made as a straight-to-DVD movie. Its theatrical release was way too overhyped, and ultimately the final product was weak.

Tons of people are probably going to disagree with me like hell, but what can I say? I was really, really disappointed.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I would’ve liked more lines from the Mr Burns, Smithers, Moe, and Patty and Selma’s of the world.
Still, having heard that the peripheral characters were practically non-existant in this movie, I was pleasantly surprised.
I think Bart’s humor has long since turned stale, Marge and Lisa were never that funny, so we need new blood.
I was happy with Flanders, Chief Wiggum, and Lenny and Carl roles in the movie.
As a Simpsons fan, I”m gonna be nothing but mesmorized with this movie.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It was ok, but I was hoping for more I guess. Still it was fun to see them do some things with the cartoon that they couldn’t have done on TV.
I think it was worth it just for the scene where the characters think they are doomed and all the church characters run into Moes and all of those characters run into the church. Too bad there wasn’t more of those kinds of moments.
If you stick around til the credits Maggie has another moment…

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It could have been way better. After watching the show for a long time, the movie was just not up to par to the show.

WORTH CONSUMING!

(posted from All Consuming)

A. It was really, really funny.

B. I laughed my head off.

C. It kept me laughing for 2 hours.

D. It didn’t really leave an impression on me.

I was hoping for one of those movies that is so amazing, it’s in my thoughts for days to come. It was two hours of classic Simpsons humor, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. But as Homer said, I paid $8 for something I could have gotten for free on TV.
