WORTH CONSUMING!

So far I’ve only read the first part (started reading the book yesteday) and I must say that it’s thrilling to see how little the industry has changed in almost 20 years.

The book was written in 1988 and it looks boring, but once you start reading it, it feels so fresh and interesting that you cannot let it go from your hands. I won’t give a final opinion on the book before reading it all the way til the end but it sure feels promising.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is perhaps the best book on productive teams & project management that’s out there today.

After reading this, I actually ended up quitting a contract gig because I realized that there could be another way …

... a way described by Demarco & Lister in this book.

As a startup entrepreneur, if the teams I build and work with achieve even 80% of what is recommended in this book, we’ll be doing better than a vaaast majority of software development groups out there. Especially those at BigCos.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Anyone that’s either an information worker manager or looking for a job as an information worker seriously needs to read this book.

It contains both information about how you can summon Holgar Dansk to reduce the madness and things to look out for so you can avoid getting yourself into a job where you need him.

I dug this one out after a project that left me feeling burned out and grumpy after just six months back in the workforce. Soothing proof that there is a better way, and we can build it. The best book on helping people do their jobs that I’ve found, with the bonus that the authors are Christopher Alexander fans.
