After listening to Be I became a big fan of Common, going back and picking up a few of his other albums, so I was really excited for Finding Forever to come out. It’s a good album; not as good as Be, but still good. Common relies a lot on Kanye West again on this album, which is fine because he’s a good producer, but I wish he wouldn’t be the “featured guest star” as much. Other featured guests pull off their jobs pretty well: Lily Allen, D’Angelo, even will.i.am (who I’m not usually willing to put praise on). The songs are catchy, although Common seems to have run a little empty when coming up with some of the lyrics. Overall, a good album but not great, which is actually a little disappointing when it comes to what I’d expect from Common.
