The funny thing about this game is that if you’ve ever played a real musical instrument, it’s more of a hindrance than a help.

although i couldn’t manage anything above easy the sexy angels rocked out! unfortunately i had to give the game back from hence it came. definetly am going to buy it.

I am currently enjoying this game and I am now working on Hard mode. The transition from Easy mode to Medium mode was challenging because I had to start using my pinky finger on the frets and my hand would get sore after a few songs. Now that I’m on Hard mode and I find the challenge in shifting my hand up and down the neck of the guitar and the increased difficulty of the songs. I’m trying to use alternate strumming to get past the fast portion of songs but solos are still difficult for me. I need to improve my hammer-ons and pull-offs. I’m playing the game less now because it has gotten harder but I don’t enjoy it any less. I just need to improve my playing skills and start memorizing the notes. I look forward to Guitar Hero II and the new addition of the Practice mode which I think will be very helpful.

This game is a ton of fun. While it gets a bit tired hearing “I love rock and roll”, watching people try it for the first time is hilarious. People I’ve watched play so far (with accompanying grades):

Myself? after considerable time at the plastic guitar I think I’m deserving of a C+. I’ve completed a few tracks on ‘hard’. It should be noted that with any practice everyone (except maybe our friends in the F category) would surpass me in short order.

This game is so much fun. It would be nice if there were more recent tracks to play, since it’s much harder to play the tracks you haven’t heard before (because you don’t know the rhythm). The learning curve is just about right, but I’m not sure if I will ever managed Hard mode (which uses all 5 fret buttons) seeing as I’m already struggling with some of the later tracks on Medium. Other than that though, it’s an awesome game and I cannot wait to try the 2-player mode!
