I’d missed the previous four books in the Hot Zone series, but Hot Property lacked inspiration and energy. The book fell completely flat. The other novel I’d read by Carly Phillips had plenty of spunk. Perhaps she was exhausted by fan critiques as she alluded in her letter at the beginning of the book. The characters in Hot Property were completely shallow and their motivations were insincere. I hope Phillips churns out something better in her new series Lucky Charm.
