Ahh one of my favorite things in the world. I am living abroad and every once in a while I get together with my other American buddies and we make a big breakfast: bacon, eggs, pancakes, hash browns, the works… We will eat this at any time in the day. One ill fated day I invited my Spanish friend over to join in the feast, we were making french toast which she had never experienced before. She took a look at all the fat and butter involved and said: no como asi…I don’t eat like this, and she just ate some fruit. Wow we felt like fatties but oh so gloriously happy!!

One thing I miss about the US while living in the UK is the American style breakfasts. Some places, like Frankie & Benny’s do some “American Pancakes” for brunch but there’s no Waffles or French Toast. Plus you only get Canadian Bacon! Might as well just eat ham! Oh I can’t wait to go back to the States and get some real breakfast!

I used to love this kind of stuff but now it makes me sick when I actually eat it at breakfast. Any other time of the day is fine, it just cannot be the first thing I consume in a day. Mmmm, greasy hash browns.

Right across the street from my dorm at the University of Kentucky is a diner named Tolly Ho. Open 24×7, with their full menu available the whole time, they have some of the best good ole greasy-spoon breakfasts you can find.
