I know this sounds funny, but here it goes. :-p
I got my first ever speeding ticket while I was listening to this album. I was crying so hard. But anyway.

As Bright Eyes is one of my most favorite bands, this is easily one of my most favorite albums, along with “Lifted…” I have it on vinyl and CD, and I’ve listened to it more times than I could count. If you can deal with Conor’s voice, and are in the right state of mind, I think you would like this album.

It took me forever to get over being irritated by Conor Oberst’s voice. However, First Day of My Life did it for me.

I actually had a number of his albums for a few years, and couldn’t bring myself to sit through them. I heard First Day of My Life about a month ago, and realized I should give it a shot. So, I did. I guess that’s a good thing. Who knows.

I’ve also been more in a Bright Eyes mood lately anyhow.

While there are a few quality, really listenable, tracks on the album, for the most part I find myself skipping over songs. I think you have to be in a certain mood or of a certain mind to get this album and I just haven’t been there all year.
