NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Was I the only one who didn’t like this movie? I saw this in the theater with my husband and 7-year-old son when it first came out. I was utterly bored out of my mind during the entire thing. I looked at my watch more than once and even contemplated texting a friend during the movie.

There were a few parts that made me chuckle, but overall, I felt the movie was so predictable. I hate the fact that big name actors use their names to voiceover cartoons. The storyline and characters didn’t pull me in at all.

It seemed like all the funny parts were in the trailer, which made it seem funnier than what it was.

I think that if you like kung fu movies, you’ll like this better than I did. I have to say that I’m just not a Dreamworks fan. They only movies I can really stand from them is the Shrek series.

WORTH CONSUMING!

My Kung-Fu weekend, part two:

Cute, but not overly saccharine. There is a moral, but it’s not rammed down your throat. I actually thought is was one of the better animations I’ve seen in recent years, as it doesn’t try too hard to be cool and achingly funny.

The animation style is interesting, if a little clunky at times – by that I mean, sometimes the cg-fx are very lifelike, then very cartoony, particularly the (background) characters.

The voices are all good, especially Dustin Hoffman. I totally didn’t spot Angelina Jolie (!), and Lucy Liu and Jackie Chan are criminally underused. Ian McShane was an odd choice but very effective!

Overall it was fun, made me smile, and was pretty heartwarming. I approve :)

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie is funny and endearing at the same time. I guess Dreamworks does have a few good animated movies in them afterall.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Much, much better than I thought it would be. It’s one of those movies that actually doesn’t but the best stuff in the preview. As good as Shrek.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Haha! This movie had me laughing head to toe. I especially liked it when he climbed the stairs with the noodle cart. This is totally a movie worth watching!
