WORTH CONSUMING!

When I first heard Ms. Peyroux I thought, “wow, this is a really high quality Billie Holiday recording.” In other words, I don’t know if Peyroux brings anything new to the table with her VOICE. The arrangements, however, run from fun to elegant and have carved her a niche beside Norah Jones.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Madeleine Peyroux is a 30-ish jazz singer whose voice has the wisdom of Peggy Lee’s elder sister. I highly recommend this CD. She was interviewed recently on WBUR’s “The Connection.”
