WORTH CONSUMING!
Some people might not be impressed with this movie, but you have to remember how cutting-edge this movie was at the time. (Quick comparison: two of the biggest films of 1959 were “Ben Hur” and “Some Like It Hot”. Think about “The 400 Blows” in comparison to that.) This is one of the most influential movies of all time, and its themes and techniques have become part of the modern-day moviegoing experience. But that’s not the most important reason to watch this movie. Jean-Pierre Léaud puts in a superb, nuanced performance of a caliber that I rarely see in any actor, let alone one of his age. A great movie, not just for film buffs.
