Why I want to consume this — 2 years ago
Ariane caught my eye, and I saw she was consuming it. It caught my eye, so I ordered it from Amazon using a gift certificate I had.
Having gotten through over a third of it in just the first evening, I would have to say it is kind of interesting and very easy to read.
It has a fair bit to say about the history of many social systems that have arisen in the past several hundred years. A lot of which can be seen as kind of shocking or at least disappointing. They don’t dwell on any one in particular. They seem to hop around a lot.
They mention people who originated different social systems, those who put them into practice, those who made different observations/discoveries about human sociology, and some major historical events that in some way relate to it.
So far the book is not in any way mind-blowing but it is slightly eye-opening.
