This was one of the last books my mom read to me before I started reading exclusively on my own (even once I learned to read, my mom would still read to me sometimes, as a mother/daughter bonding). I always remembered it because it was one of the first times I remember something like a book reaching me on a deeper level than the books I had been reading before.

this was one of my favorite books when i was really young and i recommend a must read for any kid ages 10 thru 15 because it has many life lessons to be learned and in all it is just a very enjoyable read.
