WORTH CONSUMING!

Like the first person PoV, coyotes and a difficult-to-follow plot? You may just like this book…or you may hate it. Moon Called takes place from Mercedes “Mercy” Thompson’s PoV. She is a coyote shapeshifter. Her next-door neighbor and best friend is Adam, the Alpha of the local werewolf pack. Mercy meets up with a young werewolf named Mac, who is a run-away. He offers to do some work around Mercy’s car shop. Later on, she easily finds out that he is a werewolf. Not too much later, Mac is killed and Adam’s human daughter (Jesse) kidnapped. Thus, Mercy takes it into her own hands to find out what happened to Jesse. This means dealing with more werewolves. Yes, this is a werewolf book. Unfortunately, it has a hard-to-follow plot. In all, it is a good read, but you have to work hard to keep up with it. It does offer some new insights on werewolves, along with vampires and fae.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Synopsis:
“Mercy Thompson’s life is not exactly normal. Her next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she’s fixing a VW bus for a vampire. But then, Mercy isn’t exactly normal herself…. and her connection to the world of things that go bump in the night is about to get her into a whole lot of trouble.”

Mercy is a shapeshifter, by the way. Coyote… What a refreshing read! I really liked it. Yet again a new look at werewolves. And fae, vampires and the whole other shebang. Good fun. I have to check if there are more Mercy Thompson books around – to find out, if there is more to come with her and that nice, good looking werewolf. Not telling you, which one! You have to find out yourself. No, but this is not the usual hot steamy paranormal sex thing, there is a good deal of old fashioned sleuthing going on and hunting and firearms and karate…. I have to go to Amazon now and stick everything by Patricia Briggs on my wishlist, excuse me for a moment…

WORTH CONSUMING!

Liked it alot. I hope that Patricia Briggs writes more stories in this worldscape. For me this book had a similar feel to it of Kelly Armstrong’s werewolf/vamp world, and the writing was very fluid, easy to read and made sense. There were some elements of comedy, but she kept the story on a more dramatic note, and left out alot of what I call “fluff”, which some authors seem determined to write into their vamp/werewolf/witch stories. All in all, a great read!

WORTH CONSUMING!

The story line was fairly interesting. The vampires are a little weak for my taste.
