This book is great! It’s a good way to find scary/interesting/groundbreaking/weirdo horror amongst all the crap floating around out there, and several the essays are definitely worth reading. There are essays by a wide variety of writers: M.R. James, Poe, Lovecraft (all reprints, obviously), Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Suzy McKee Charnas, Stephen King, Peter Straub, etc.
