I liked the change of setting (Sierra monastery in the wintertime), and the people Odd meets. It was a good mix of horror and thriller with a touch of humor.

I noted this as not worth consuming but that is solely based on the first two books. If you are a Dean Koontz fan go ahead and read it but buy the soft cover. I read the first book on a whim having read very few Koontz novels. Odd Thomas made me a fan, and I went out and bought the 2nd book at an airport after finishing the first. I was so happy with the first two I bought the 3rd in hardback. It just wasn’t the same draw as the first two, I didn’t feel like reading it from cover to cover like the first. It was lost of the sly wit, humor, and excitement I found from the first two books.
I’m still reading Koontz in fact I just started Intensity and recently read Velocity.
