WORTH CONSUMING!

The first time I saw the Sounds, they opened up for Supergrass in the club in San Diego. I had not heard anything about them and the second Maja Ivarsson and her bandmates hit the stage, the energy in the room could be cut with a knife. She reminded me of Debbie Harry with her cool blonde sexy punk attitude. The moment she started singing and the Sounds started playing, they commanded the attention and energy of the audience. It had been a while since I had seen a band that was that much fun, punk, pop all-in-one. After that moment, I have been in love with this band. Their new album, “Dying to say this to you,” is filled with songs about break-ups, getting together, heartache, anger and whatever else you can think of when thinking about the different feelings associated with love. I wouldn’t call it a love album but that’s obviously the theme. My favorite songs are “Hurt You”, “Ego”, and of course, “Queen of Apology” (since I am the queen of apology).

- And I’m stuck with this feeling / will it ever stop / ever stop/ I keep trying / I blame none but myself / so honestly / is this how it’s gonna be/ tell me who’s the enemy
