WORTH CONSUMING!

Sarah Silverman is amazing. Jesus is Magic is gold, her new show, The Sarah Silverman Program is also brilliant. I had a copy of this stand up but seeing all the small nuances in the deliverance of her act really brings out the brilliance of her comedy. She is so pretty and so filthy and I’d want to be her when I grow up, except for the banging Jimmy Kimmel part. Maybe.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I like Sarah Silverman, but in small doses. Acting in School of Rock? Fine. But singing, dancing, joketelling for over an hour. No.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

you know, i heard about how this was supposed to be all crazy and edgy or whatever, i was really looking foward to it. i mean, it reminded me of pulp comics on comedy central. it just wasnt that funny. i mean, there were some really good bits, i liked the beginning, but so many of the songs we just filler and not funny, and there was a lot of repetition. if i hear a joke, dont tell it to me again within an hour. i got it, i heard it. oi. i was especially disapointed when i watched her clip on the aristocrats, and she used the “i suspect foul play” line again. geez.
overall, it kind of reminded me of carlos mencia, with the heavy emphasis on race and really trying to offensive. i laughed a few times, but when it was over, i jerked up and said, “is that it?!?”

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Ugh. She’s great, so I’ve been prepared to love it ever since it came out… but alas, it wasn’t even remotely amusing to me.
Who encouraged her to go forward with this?

WORTH CONSUMING!

Sarah Silverman works at the offensive edge of comedy in a style that lulls you into comfortability and then hits you in the blind side of prejudice and hypocrisy. Silverman in her act speaks with perfect diction and good posture, but when you listen to what she is saying it is shocking as she touches on taboo subjects. In Jesus is Magic a live concert is combined with some filmed musical numbers and framing devices to create a concert film that captures the sensibility of a comic who is bold and unafraid to offend. It’s not for everyone, but I think that if it clicks with you, you’ll really enjoy it.
