I had such a ‘fleshy’ pumpkin on Halloween that it took me all the time I had to just get the insides out, and I never got to carve my jack-o-lantern. It was worth it for the pie though! I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but it was delicious! Didn’t really look like a pumpkin pie, because I didn’t bother to puree the fruit, as it was all mushed up from being scraped out the pumpkin.

I remember eating a slice before I went trick-or-treating when I was about 3. I was watching Bewitched at the time. My costume- a witch. I felt very Halloween-y that day! And part of the reason why I like pumpkin pie, good memories of fall. :)

All in the spices — 2 years agoNot enough nutmeg etc and it’s just “O.K.” Get the proportions right and it’s melt-in-your-mouth decadence.
