Intellectual snobbery at a disgusting point — 1 year ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This book was boring except when they talked about the killer’s schizophrenia. The author is one of those annoying intellectual snobs. He seems to be one of those supremacist people too, always blabbering on about the supremacy of the English language and whatnot. He needs a good slap in the head and an introduction to the real world outside of the ivory tower. Anyway, I was bored almost to tears as he talked on and on and on about how words are sorted for a dictionary. I would not have spent more than 15 minutes on this if I didn’t have to read it for a class in school.

A story about this — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

As indicated in the subtitle, The Professor and the Madman is “a tale of murder, insanity, and the making of the Oxford English Dictionary.” It is one of the best biographies I have ever read. It is a human story of forviveness, redemption, collaborative effort and colossal achievement.
