I finished The Unbearable Lightness of Being with mixed feelings. I enjoyed the bits of philosophy, discussion, & ideas showing through the cracks of the novel – especially the first few pages (the discussion of lightness & weight) – but disliked the plot & characters (particularly Tomas whom I wanted to slap for most of the book). I wouldn’t say it’s not worth reading, but i wouldn’t read it again in its entirety.
