A story about "Rollercoasters: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas Reader" — 8 weeks ago
Lol I only see Dutch readers.
Very interesting book. When you are done you can’t stop thinking about it.
I'm currently reading 6 books, listening to 0 albums, watching 0 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 2 other things.
Lol I only see Dutch readers.
Very interesting book. When you are done you can’t stop thinking about it.
Finished it last night and I did enjoy this book as much if not more than book 1.
Only thing is that the chocolate part of this book is a bit much.
If you like to read chick lit and books about female friendships I recommend this book to you but be sure to read The Chocolate Lover’s Club first.
Finished this afternoon. Well I thought I was addictive to chocolate. I need chocolate every day, but boy compared to these women in the book, I am a baby.
I for one would never drink chocolate and eat it at the same time, plus at the most I will eat one bar. Sometimes it made me sick reading of so much chocolate eating. It was a bit too much in my eyes.
It took me a bit to get into the story. I liked to read about some of the women but not all. Autumns story was boring and annoying. Not enough depth. I also thought Chantal’s story I did enjoy reading about her, how her husband treated her and especially the reason which he told her why, very unbelievable and a bit stupid.
But all in all I did enjoy myself and I am glad that I can go on and read the sequel The Chocolate Lover’s Diet. Maybe we get to know the other women more.
8 out of 10
I picked it up yesterday just after reading Cane River. Maybe i should have waited cause this book was so different.
I liked some parts but to be honest, most of the times I was bored.
This book has raving reviews on amazon but I noticed most of them if not all, are written by people who had the same kind of upraising as the author of this book. Maybe that is why it appeals to them so much and not to me. I can understand that. There does not happen much in this book, unlike Cane River so for me it was boring but if you recognise a lot, then you probably would love it.
This is what I wrote about this book on bookcrossing.

Just wanted to let you two know I picked this book to go to bed with me last night. (what an honor) lol.
Picture me reading in bed laughing so loud, I could not stop.
I love it when a book makes me laugh out loud. The first 50 pages, the story with the bath, babysitting, the funny cat, all so recognisable. reminded me of my own youth. (I had only 3 sisters)
Now I have read 85 pages. Really enjoying it so far. Think my mom might like it too. (don’t understand all of Mum’s jingles, poems and such but that does not matter that much.
and today Saturday April 12….....
Just finished reading this book. I enjoyed it so much I decided 1 hour ago to go and settle myself on the couch to read the last hundred pages.
Now I am a bit sad I have finished it.
What a great read and here I was always thinking this book was about a horse!!!! It has been offered in swaps before and last time when i read it was about a mother who participates in contest, I thought I might like it.
I laughed a lot. Such a great family, what a mother. Also loved the stories about the stray animals. The smart cat, the crazy duck, the funny sparrow.
One of my favorite reads of 2008 so far.
Thank you for sharing this Ri and Ace. 9.5
Just the great writing.
After a while you feel sorry for everyone, for Blaze, the baby, its family.
Great book.
About this title: Early one summer morning, Eileen Ross lived through two-and-a-half hours of terror. Alone and blind, she was awakened by an intruder who bludgeoned her with a mallet. When she regained consciousness, her hair matted with blood, the man loomed over her. In the horrible nightmare that followed, she was savagely beaten, robbed, and raped twice. During the attack, while the man repeatedly threatened to kill her, Eileen evolved a plan, not only to save her life, but also to secure physical evidence that would trap the rapist once he was apprehended.
Completed this book yesterday.
It was a good read but sometimes it just felt weird and the author started to annoy me.
It is weird knowing that the victim wrote this book. She does not use the I form, so when you read Eileen was beautiful. Eileen was the one that got the perpetrator to jail, it bugs me.
She did good but after reading this book I did feel she loved being the center of attention.

Well I picked this up to read last week. lately I only read 30 minutes in bed.
I caught myself laughing and giggling a few times.
This was a fun read. I felt it was a mix between a chick lit and a Maeve Binchy book. Very warm book.
You get to know what happens next to all the people involved.
