WORTH CONSUMING!

for a first time book???

oh MAN

this book had me at turns both giggling like a loonie (in public) and sobbing myself to sleep at night. the prose is passionate, daring and astonishingly profound

i recommend this book for everyone, especially those who are in love with words

let them eat cake....lots and lots of cake — 40 weeks ago

while this movie was visually incredible (high color saturation, stunning costumes) the script was significantly lacking…the use of modern songs could have been done more smoothly…remember air in the virgin suicides?

this movie was basically shot after shot of kirsten dunst getting more and more attractive and staying rail thin while she mows on sweet after sweet…and to me it looked like a lot of advertising for shoes, cakes, and the lot

it was worth seeing, but don’t expect a “movie”...the plot is so thin…well, the plot is transparent

obsession much? — 1 year ago

i would have liked this book more if i had more respect for the narrator…he was insane, stubborn and kind of oblivious…which obviously was intentional and part of a character that has to deal with unspeakable grief…

i dunno…worth a read, very touching at points

i felt awful for his dog tho…

WORTH CONSUMING!

quickly:

i agree with the last poster:

TOO MANY HUMANS.
and not just that, but too many extremely obnoxious and spazzoid humans. take a BREATH, for chrissake!

however, the autobots were done entirely too well :) i was thrilled. i thought the flames on optimus prime might annoy me, but they created his character so well, i didn’t notice through the movie.

props: bumblebee: beeyotch!
props: the interaction between starscream and megatron “you continue to disappoint me, starscream.” dude…that guy was ALWAYS megatron’s bitch
props: starscream fighting jet planes…that was outstanding

worth seeing, especially if transformers were a big part of your childhood, as they were mine

WORTH CONSUMING!

i almost didn’t see this movie because i’m a wuss when it comes to watching violent and intense movies…but i’m SO glad i did.

the movie is terribly realistic and plays with your attention span a lot. there are headlines and clips about what happened to humanity in order for it to get to the point where people had ceased being able to breed (nuclear war, bird flu, chemical spills, etc.)

i enjoy the vagueries (is that a word??) of this movie and how by the end of the movie you are gripping your seat for almost 20 minutes. the directing is AWESOME…there’s one shot in the movie that follows clive owen running his ass off as a wave of bullets and mortars explode all around him for almost 10 minutes straight…fantastic editing and shooting.

my only complaint is that they could have developed clive owen’s character a leeeetle bit more and the not so subtle metaphor of the main female character’s name (Kee) kinda hit you over the head…

all in all a realllly good movie

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

honestly, i still have like 20 pages left…but, as with the rest of the book, i will probably skim over them because i anticipate at least 15 of those pages to do nothing but promote other books pickover has written…

what a shame this book was! the parts that did NOT involve pickover’s own self-aggrandizement were relatively interesting, at times even compelling. however, the book was so charged with promoting himself, i have to say i will never read another book by this man again.

an author in love with his own prose — 1 year ago

this book had its poignant and well-written moments but i just couldn’t share any of the emotions of the characters for the simple reason that the book is TOO self aware…as in the writer is very in love with his own writing and his constant references to how he wrote the book really detract from the story….

enh…i guess it was alright.
