Loved ESOTSM and this is different but still has the same brilliance. Like many people, I didn’t really “get” it but the characters, situations, dreams and setting were beautiful and engaging.

The character of Stephane I thought was an exagerrated version of me and a lot of other people. People who prefer to live out their life in books/films/dreams rather than actually LIVE it. I daydream almost constantely and sometimes actually forget what has been done or dreamed, and I thought this film showed this to the extreme.

The ending I agree was ambiguous, but I liked that,the cynics and the optimists could each choose their own ending. But I also agree that it ended too soon, I could have happily watched another hour!

James McAvoy is an absolute legend in this – turned a quite possibly boring story into something else entirely, god that boy can act! Anne Hathaway was alright – not brilliant but this movie was good nonetheless
