I’m probably the only person in the world that thinks this apparently, but I hate Dan Brown. I really hate Dan Brown. I should have known better after reading The Da Vinci Code. I bought the book because I was visiting Rome on vacation and was told this book enhanced a visit to Rome. And that it did in that I did look for some of the things Brown describes.
But, what about the story itself? Brown has this amazing way of engaging the reader and not letting go. Sounds good, right? Well, it would be if his plotlines weren’t so ridiculous. By the time I was finished with this book, I was just disgusted with it and threw it in the trash (for my friend to recover and read, sadly). Robert Langdon is just the most amazing guy that is able to get away with the most amazing things. It’s such total crap.
Here’s the deal. I love conspiracy stories, I really do. But just make them believable with realistic characters and this book would have been great. Such a great idea, competely botched. What a waste of time. Sigh.
