Although there are a couple good songs—and a great song (the title song)—the rest don’t do it for me. I wouldn’t recommend this album as an introduction to the band.

This album is good, but not without some weaknesses, such as lazy lyrics. It’s pretty straightforward, especially considering the close relation to Sonic Youth. It could be summarized as semi-dissonant riff rock until the last two songs which are more more typical Sonic Youth, minus Lee.
I think this trilogy started out wonderfully, but I found myself frustrated by the the third film. I think the story’s themes were just repeated too many times. Apu is happy, someone close to him dies, Apu is sad, then Apu recovers. This worked in the first two films, but by the third I found myself accurately predicting the entire movie within the first few minutes.
However, I can’t not recommend it. I still think watching the trilogy as a whole is still well worth it.
It’s definitely fun, but it feels like I’ve played it a billion times. I don’t share the same complaint that others have made about it being too short. It’s an action game.
