Why I recommend "Mental Jewelry" — 44 weeks ago
I forgot all about this album, yet another one I am rediscovering as I pour through my collection. I consider this to be the best Live album, even better than the highly acclaimed Throwing Copper.

I forgot how wonderful this album is, and furthermore, how wonderful the writing and composition of Roger Waters is. I put it on my iPod by mistake this morning, and have been listening to it this evening. This album carries a lot of the same emotional and spiritual struggles forward from The Wall, and even has some of the same melodic themes.
My two favorite tracks so far are “One of the Few” and “The Gunner’s Dream”.
Give Waters a chance. Listen to this a few times over. He’ll grow on you, and you might discover some things about yourself.
The second installment of this trilogy beats the first hands down. I’m not entirely sure how Pullman plans to wrap this up, but I will say that he is writing the story that I wanted to compose. He’s got guts, and is one of the best story tellers I’ve run across.
I just picked this book up yesterday to read after I finish my current fiction work. I didn’t want to start the next chapter of my book because my subway stop was coming up, so I read the introductory essay by Robert Anton Wilson that kicks this book off.
Wow. I was sucked in. I can’t wait to really start working through the exercises. It’s going to be a trip.
The book intends to teach the read (via exercise and meditation) to destroy the self, or to realize the True Will.
This is a book I wish had been given to me in late high school. It would have saved some pain, and might’ve helped me develop a more balanced view of the world.
Most introductory economics books that I’ve read tend to lean far to the political right, which ultimately turn me off. Wheelan takes a very different approach by showing us the value of Government intervention (limited), while demonstrating the virtue of the free market.
I’d happily recommend this to anyone else out there looking for a well delivered explanation of basic economics in a turbulent world.

I started and finished this today. It gave me a few extra ideas for my campaign, but nothing extraordinary.
If you’re a beginner, check this out. If you’re looking for more advice, you need to look elsewhere.
This book can really change the way you see the Internet, and the ongoing struggle to make it the best environment possible.
Too many of us (myself included) get caught up in the libertarian view that the Internet is free, and it should be kept free of reguluation. The market will take care of itself.
Lessig shows us that while that is a nice ideal, it doesn’t translate. Cyberspace is not natural. It was created, and can be controlled if we don’t work to stop it and make sure our values are known.
Read it and think, people. Whether you agree or not, it will make you think.
Read it if you have an open mind are interested in exploring a possibily more profound meaning of spirituality.
I am versed in some of the Gnostic concepts, and have often been a questioner. This book has inspired me to look further.
