A story about "Nancy Wake: A Biography of Our Greatest War Heroine" — 16 weeks ago
A bit of an airport read – I found the style of writing slightly on the schlocky side, but still very interesting to read about life in France during World War II.
I'm currently reading 1 book, listening to 3 albums, watching 5 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.

Peter Robinson doesn’t ever let me down. This is a great Banks novel.
I bought this on vinyl back when I was about 18. I used to listen to it when I was in the bath, or when I was studying. Haven’t had a turntable for years, but I now have it on my iPod and I think it’s going to be the soundtrack to the waterbirthing of PartyPie…
It’s good. It’s intriguing. It didn’t take over my whole existence like Six Feet Under but I did enjoy it.
I read it yesterday. I devoted the whole day to it, and it was worth the wait!! I’d listened to all the previous books read by Stephen Fry, but being able to curl up with this was great. Highly recommended. I have closure.
So bad. SO bad. So trite. So obvious and predictable. All I wanted was some eye candy kind of chick flick to watch while at home with a cold. OK, so the guy in it is kind of cute, in a thuggy bruised kind of way, but PLOT? HELLO? Rachel Griffiths must have really needed the money to bother with this…
Grrrr.
It took me f.o.r.e.v.e.r to get into this book. I probably read two other books while still dipping in and out of the first 80 pages. But finally it swept me away and I became drawn in and desperate to know how it was all going to pan out. One of the reasons that I read this was that so many other people had said how good it was, and I was determined to persevere. I’m glad I did.
It’s just too dreary. I had read a few of her earlier novels and they were funny – this was just too heavy on the one liners and the plot was lame.
An insightful look at the gas industry of Victoria. Great resource for history students.
Um. Not as good as the book. Kind of all over the place. Even though the cast is great, and the acting is also excellent, it seemed to me to be trying to squash too much in, and sort of suffered as a result. I don’t know. It would have been very hard to pull this off well… It’s not terrible. Maybe if you haven’t read the book it would seem better….
