This is one of those books that made me take a look at my life, feel gratitude and joy for what I have, and still made me long for more. I honestly won’t see things the same again. It’s a beautiful story that broke my heart and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Fun introduction to Chilean history and culture through the eyes of someone who loves her country. Of course, I love her writing anyhow, so this is a pleasure.

Quick airplane read, makes me want to re-read the triology.

So so so very good, though made me weep. Not hard to do, but still.

Ah. It’s been a long time, old friend.

Enjoyable, though not nearly so much as “Wicked” and “Confessions”.

I tried and failed with this one years ago. Inspired by my latest viewing of “The Return of the King” I’m back at it and am really enjoying it. Favourite quote thus far: “But of bliss and glad life there is little to be said, before it ends; as works fair and wonderful, while they still endure for eyes to see, are their own record and only when they are in peril or broken for ever do they pass into song.”

This is another that I’ve read partially but really want to complete. And for whatever reason the timing seems right.

Eh. Dunno if I’ll get back to this one. Some of the essays were interesting but It didn’t really hook me enough to keep it out of the library.
