A story about this — 1 year ago
cries this was the most painful movie to watch EVER. The plotline and overall feeling was one of this cheesy children’s movie, but it was full of so many sleazy sex references, jokes, and content that the end result was absolutely absurd. There was ONE hilarious moment in the film which didn’t actually happen in the film—in the preview Wilson breaks up with Thurman and she rockets through the ceiling, he pauses and whispers “Oh noooo”—I laughed for a really long time at that but unfortunately it was a manufactured little scene from a bigger scene in the movie which was unfunny and the line wasn’t even in there (at least, I waited for it and I didn’t hear it, I could be mistaken I suppose).
That’s not my biggest problem with the movie, but I thought it was disappointing that the reason I wanted to see the movie wasn’t even in it at all.
The characters had potential and I think it could have been a much better movie if it weren’t for the low-brow slap stick and sex. I’m not against sexual jokes or anything, but there were SO MANY and most of them were NOT FUNNY. They should have just made it a more family oriented film (again, the tone was SO Disney channel cheesy that I’m not sure why they didn’t go all the way in the first place) and maybe I would have actually liked it.
