A story about "Platinum Collection" — 1 year ago
This works its way through the back catalogue in reverse order. Some on CD 3 I’ve never heard before and although they are very prog as you’d expect, they sound lovely and fresh.
A great selection.
I'm currently reading 3 books, listening to 4 albums, watching 2 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.

Even though this book is categorised on the spine as “non-fiction/travel” (which I didn’t see until I’d finished it) and a Bill Bryson comparison on the cover I thought this was fiction. It spun in so many things from the real world, like the author playing with Lloyd Cole and the Commotions and Newt Gingrich visiting Ireland.
It’s about someone moving to Ireland. It’s a great story, I recommend it.
My favourite bit is when he says he was in the Commotions and someone asks him which one he is. “Scary Commotion” he replies.
I thought it was really good. I’m sure it didn’t quite follow the book, but as it was so long since I read the book I couldn’t tell which bits were new. Pure fans probably hate it, but I’d recommend it to half-hearted fans. It’s quite quirky, so I wouldn’t recommend it to people without a strange sense of humour.
This has a “PS” section at the back. It’s a bit like those extras on DVDs with author interviews etc. A good development for books to have.
Fascinating story, with an engineer as a hero. The trouble is, like Titanic, I know its all going to end in disaster.
I gave up on this because it is just too wordy. Maybe if I was away for a week and just wanted to read books it would occupy a couple of days, but so many books, so little time…
The review on the cover said it’s very funny. It’s not, but it’s still intriguing.
Only listened once, a like most of it a lot, and I’m happy for the rest to grow on me.
I think this album is great. And funnily enough so do my children, all under 8. Something for all the family.
