Why I recommend "Shall We Dance?" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I saw the american version of this and I wish I didnt. But when I heard there was a Japanese original version I was intriged. Much, much better than the remake.

In fact so much of it was about Japanese culture that the remake seem to miss the main themes of the movie.

Why I recommend "Never Let Me Go" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of the best books I’ve read in a while. I think I liked it most as I didnt know anything about it when I first picked it up and it reveals itself slowly.

I’ve never read any of his other stuff, in fact I didnt know it was the same author as Remains of the Day. That might have turned me off, as I saw the movie and absolutely hated it. Now I’m thinking I should try the book after enjoying this one so much.

Really original! Try it out!

Why I recommend "Love in the Time of Cholera" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is one of the best books I’ve read for ages about love and relationships. The characters felt really real to me even though their setting is so foreign. Its been on my list of reading for years, I’m glad I finally got round to reading it.

Its the first book by Marquez I’ve read. Must read some more.

A story about "March of the Penguins" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’ve been meaning to watch this since it came out in the cinemas. I saw it in the DVD store today and grabbed it. Well worth watching for the fanatastic imagery which would have had to be gathered in tough conditions.

Why I recommend "The White Diamond" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I think this was really interesting.. and quite different to other documentaries I’ve seen. It seemed like the main interesting part was the story of coping with a friends death. But this wasnt the main thing I liked about it.

I think the thing that intriguied me the most was the way they really managed to capture an engineer’s love of design and how all consuming they get over a project. To see the guy’s eyes light up when he talked about the air ship was pretty neat.
