Why I gave up consuming "Lady of Burlesque" — 7 weeks ago

Oh my goodness this was awful. I couldn’t get past the first few minutes, even by making fun of it.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This wasn’t good. It had so much potential but the writer couldn’t seem to decide what she wanted the book to be, and the main character was annoying, and unbelievable stuff would happen, and most of the characters were one dimensional, and… well, I don’t really need to go any further, do I?

A story about "The Secret Life of Bees" — 23 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did (and I really did), especially since I was kind of meh about it after reading the first few pages. I set it down to chat with some people and when I picked it up again I read the rest of it in one sitting, wanting to know what happened. Worth reading.

A story about "Theodore Roosevelt: (The American Presidents Series)" — 24 weeks ago

Meh. The information on Roosevelt was “worth consuming” but the the book was dry and not particularly well-written, and I didn’t care for the author inserting his opinion in odd places. I’m sure there are a ton of better biographies written about T. Roosevelt.

WORTH CONSUMING!

It took me months to read because I was mostly reading it on my lunch break and during chiropractic therapy sessions. It was so detailed and involved and mind bending that it took me a week to figure out that I think I liked it.

Worth reading though, regardless.

A story about "The House of Dies Drear (Dies Drear Chronicle)" — 2 years ago

I read this years ago. Something put it in my mind a few nights ago, possibly even last night. I looked it up to check the name because I wasn’t sure of the exact title.
Tonight I walked into the library and it was among the newer books that are on the shelf right inside the door. I took it as a sign that I should read it again and picked it up. As I recall it was quite good, hopefully it will be just as good the second time around.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

One of those romances where the two main characters hate each other the entire time until something puts the female in danger and suddenly he’s asking her to marry him and telling her he loved her all along.

A waste of paper.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A quick, young adult nonfiction. I learned some stuff I didn’t know and thanks to it have the titles of a few books about World War II that may prove to be interesting. So it was worth consuming.
