A story about "Catch-22" — 1 year ago
Thanks to my 11th grade English teacher for assigning this book which I never would have picked up on my own. Turned out to be one of my favorite books. I’ve read it several times.

Really wish there were more of these.
Not my favorite Dickens’ book. That first paragraph is great (it was the best of times, it was the worst of times) but it goes downhill from there. Still, read it at least once.
This is my favorite Dickens book (thus far, haven’t read all of them yet). In contrast to Oliver Twist, David Copperfield takes matters into his own hands, determines his own future. This is said to be Dickens’ most autobiographical book. Perhaps that is why it is so very good.
Interestingly, the title character is the least memorable character (except for the famous line about wanting more, what do you remember about him). Everything happens to him; Oliver himself doesn’t do much or really make any decisions.
