see hazel7074’s review. i couldn’t have said it any better.

this was ok. i really liked the maggot and the soundtrack was pretty good.
i’ve tried a lot of different meats from working in the deli and this has got to be the worst of the lot. it’s a loaf base, (think olive, polish), with cut up noodles and cheese and some kind of red thing. i don’t even think perch would like it and he is the p+p king.
i thought this was delightful. it was funny and a good insight into how families work.
i absolutely love hormel turkey pepperoni!
i was disappointed w/the oompa loompas. johhny depp was a creepy willy wonka. i liked the beginning when all the toys caught on fire and melted and i loved the part where he tells everyone that everything in the room they were in was “eatable.” even he was eatable but that would be called cannibalism and that is frowned upon in this country. that made me laugh. i thought the squirrels were cute. i didn’t quite understand why they left out the part where charlie and his grandfather try the carbonated candy that made them float and the only way they could get down was by burping. although not crucial it does show that charlie was not a perfect kid. the movie really went downhill for me when willy and co. broke through charlie’s ceiling in the glass elevator. it was all downhill from there. hated the end. not everything is about acceptance.
the oompa loompas- why were they v. badly rapping? was it so they would be more recognizable to a younger audience? was there just one?
is helena bonham carter in all of her husband’s movies?
why is it track 7 is always good?
in chapter 2 i was pleasantly surprised to find rayford practicing opposite action. i have been a member of a dbt group for a little over 2 years now and this is one of our exercises. it consists, as rayford says, ”... his “opposite trigger” mode, and while in it, he forced himself to respond in ways diametrically opposed to how he felt. If he wanted to shout, he whispered. If he wanted to smack someone, he gently caressed his or her shoulder.” it’s hard to do, especially in the moment but it works. this book came at a time when i really needed forgiveness in my life. for others, not myself. letting go can be a hard thing but holding on to anger and hurt is worse. i know this, yet it still is v. hard to forgive. this helped me, ”’...Love forives all.’” ”’He basically says that if we forgive others, God will forgive us, but if we don’t forgive others, neither will God forgive us.’” seems like a lot of pressure but i don’t think it was meant that way.
in this book we really get to see nicolae as the devil incarnate, and his personality really starts to shine through. such arrogance! i thought it was interesting to read. to have plans to slaughter a pig on the site of the holy temple. to parade around on it down the Via Dolorosa. how can people think that God would make them take this mark of loyalty and if they do not they will be beheaded? such arrogance. we lose a semi- major character in this one, which i was not expecting. the only thing i did not like about this installment was it seemed like everything was crunched into it in the end. i felt like i was getting too much action in such a small time frame. the first half flowed nicely then the second half was just too condensed.
when i read how nicolae ordered everything in the vatican destroyed. all the religious artifacts, all the books, it reminded me of how the taliban ordered the giant buddhas destroyed. it makes me sad.
because everyone from jack the skeleton to fathead needs love.
remember to keep your wits about you and there’s always safety in numbers. i was watching the special features when i realized the “nice” mutant was named hansel. clever.
i loved this book! i felt it was on par with the odd thomas series. the language was fluid and beautiful. i’ve been reading the left behind books and quickly recognized that it was the devil and not aliens which made me feel good. i liked how when we learned that and thought about when the people were either laughing or screaming when they were being taken away, it was because they were going to heaven or hell. molly and neil had the kind of relationship i want. once again it reminded me of stormy and odd’s relationship. both were clearly soul mates. such strength and love. i thought it was clever how molly’s father’s name was render. he basically renders her immobile. he was such a good character. not a lot was written about him yet from the moment he is seen jogging down the road in the rain he exudes evil. to be able to write like that- what a gift. excellent book. quick read. sucks you in from the first page.
this lathers so well, it’s almost like milk froth.
“java devil, you are my bitch.”
“arthur is broken. give me 200cc’s of tender loving care, stat!”
“don’t be an adolf quitler.”
this is so funny it’s almost too much.
crazy mormons. the more i learn about them, the more fascinated i become.
i cried and i cried. :) this movie was beautiful. beautiful scenery, beautiful horses, beautiful relationships.
as equally quirky and charming as the book.
i thought this movie was great. i would have liked to see some more white kids in the dungeon, instead of playing into the stereotypes. i loved when the white girl came into detention and danced the tango. it was hot! i liked the movie but from that point on i was completely into it. definitely watch the extras. nice bit on the real dulaine. i even tried the steps for the ramba while he was explaining it to his students. what a great way to give back to the community.
