Very similar to the movie, but I actually liked the movie better. The main character is still fairly despicable, though.

OK, a sequel/update to H.G. Wells’ Time Machine, complete with Morlocks? Just not for me.
A novel within a novel within a novel, and the innermost nested one is a bizarre science fiction fable. As the story of two sisters and their family’s fall from grace slowly unravels, the reader is drawn in, ensnared in the interspersed recounting of an illicit love affair, during which the lovers spin out the sci fi story. This is an intricate and enthralling book.
I could not get into it. Also, I hate sci fi with unpronounceable character names.
A light-hearted look at parenthood and how the lessons learned as a mom can be applied to a life of mindfulness. I particularly appreciated the reminders that parenting a newborn forces us to live in the moment more and simplify our lives, which I am already striving to do. I also enjoyed the tips on dealing with boredom and reconnecting with my creative self, issues I’m struggling with as a new mom.
