What Equipment Is Needed For Hot Yoga
Being a newbie to hot yoga may seem quite overwhelming, it is always hard to join any new class. Walking in to the unknown, trying to find a space and then that awkward wait for the class to start. The first step though is finding some Hot Yoga Equipment and knowing which ones are worth buying. There is not actually a great deal of equipment needed for your hot yoga class so do not over analyze and look for the equipment that will make you feel the most confident walking through the doors of that class. Here are just a few bits of equipment that you will need to take with you on your first day.
A Yoga Mat – so you may be wondering why these are so important but if you choose the wrong mat then it can lead to all kinds of mishaps. Firstly, you want to look for a mat that has a non-slip pad on the bottom. A non-slip pad can really help with stability when you have to stretch out and really push yourself as it will ensure that the mat stays firmly attached to the floor and not slipping all over the place. Imagine being in full stretch and you bought a traditional mat and you feel a slip and suddenly you are head over heels and end up on your bottom. See how important that non slip mat is now?! You would also want to choose a slightly cushioned mat as this will help with comfort when carrying out any stretches and postures on in a lying position.
A water bottle and a towel – as soon as you step in to that hot yoga room you will probably be a quite surprised at just how hot the room is and you will immediately begin to start sweating. That is why having both a water bottle and a towel are necessities for your hot yoga class. You will continue to sweat profusely throughout your class and it is highly important that you drink plenty of water to replenish your body of all the fluids that it will be losing. You do not want to become dehydrated and light headed half way through your work out. As for the profuse sweating you will never be more grateful for a towel in all your life. Especially when the class finishes and the small group decide to have a chat, you will be so happy that you don’t have to stand with your whole body dripping with sweat, it will help you to feel a little refreshed.
Quality Yoga Clothes – having quality yoga clothes will help you to feel confident and comfortable during your class, you will walk into the room and nobody will know you are a beginner. Take advantage of that and become fully involved in your workout, follow the postures and stretches and make sure you lose those calories and achieve the goal you had in mind when joining the class.
