Over a quarter of a century ago, what some called an “upstart publisher,” Image Comics forged history into its own image when a group of popular Marvel artists jumped over to form their own creator-owned comics. It was a significant moment for the industry, a paradigm shift, demonstrating that people were eager to explore exciting action and adventure beyond the conventional superhero categories.

The Vision

Geoff Johns, a former DC Chief Creative Officer, and a team of what has been called ‘a murderer’s row of creative talent’ have taken the high road and shown immense courage and creativity. They have forged a path that has led them to form new worlds, to pull the very universe out of the very air that we breathe. This universe, the Unnamed, is a place of wonder, suspense, terror, danger, and mystery, thanks to the bold vision and innovative storytelling of the creatives at Ghost Machine!

The Universe of The Unnamed

Geiger, a tale of radiating fascination. Hornsby & Halo, or do you have a receipt for that baby? Devour is a frightening story that dares to ask the forbidden question: Can you be too rich or too thin? Hyde Street is the image of where terror resides.  Rook: Exodus shows the importance of knowing when to make the artful exit, and The Rocketfellers sings out that while crime may not pay, if you ever need to enter a witness protection program and agree to go back to the barbaric past, namely, our own time, then you’ll have the chance to meet and mingle with some interesting characters. Unfortunately, so will whatever entity you were trying to avoid by entering the time machine/witness protection program, so there’s that.

Consider the story of Junkyard Joe, whose record will perhaps resound and, if possible, strike a chord with former soldiers. And speaking of former soldiers, let’s talk about Redcoat. Hey, so some say the protagonist, or anti-hero, if you will, can be something of a dick. And that’s from people who love him. But we should consider that Simon Pure, our hero, may have an attitude. Still, if you’ve been dodging ex-lovers, bill collectors, and others seeking revenge with a vengeance, and your career as a mercenary–well–it’s a long time in this field of endeavor. And this nonsense has been going on for centuries; wouldn’t you be just a little freakin’ tired of it all? Give an attitude. Right! And Simon Pure feels just as strongly about not giving a rat’s hindquarters as you do!
